Part of Chopard’s 2021 Red Carpet High Jewelry Collection “Paradise”, the Fire set—comprising a ring and earrings—captures the vivid motion of a blazing flame. The designer skillfully combines custom-cut fire opals with yellow diamonds, rubies, and orange sapphires, using subtle variations in hue and texture to create the illusion of layered, flickering fire.
The Fire ring is composed of six overlapping flame motifs, each individually designed for unique curvature and proportion. At its heart burns a pear-shaped fire opal, colored by trace amounts of iron (Fe) to produce a bright, saturated orange hue. Surrounding the opal are clusters of yellow diamonds, rubies, and orange and yellow sapphires, contrasting beautifully with the gem’s translucent glow.

The Fire earrings evoke flames swaying in the wind—their semi-transparent fire opal centers reveal fine engraved gold textures beneath, reminiscent of fire’s fluid motion. Two briolette-cut fire opals dangle from the sides, their crystalline sparkle lending a dynamic finishing touch.
Notably, the Fire set is crafted from titanium, a metal for which Chopard is particularly renowned. Lightweight yet strong, the titanium is electroplated in a radiant orange tone, perfectly blending with the gemstones’ warmth to embody the essence of a living flame.
