The Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Mysterious Double Tourbillon is distinguished by its remarkable Double Mysterious Tourbillon complication, which showcases the mechanical poetry of motion within a fully openworked and transparent architecture—making it one of the most visually captivating tourbillon watches ever created by Cartier.

The 45 mm case, with a thickness of 12.4 mm, is crafted entirely from 18K rose gold, including the bezel, lugs, and crown. The case surfaces are mirror-polished to a radiant finish, while the sharply defined lugs lend a touch of architectural precision. The fluted crown is set with a signature cabochon-cut blue sapphire, a hallmark of Cartier’s watchmaking aesthetics.9

At 6 o’clock, the centerpiece of the composition—the Double Mysterious Tourbillon—commands attention. This ingenious mechanism mounts the tourbillon carriage on a sapphire crystal disc, which itself completes a full rotation every five minutes, while the tourbillon cage makes its own revolution every 60 seconds. The result is a breathtaking illusion of the tourbillon floating freely in midair, seemingly disconnected from any mechanical linkage.
The openworked dial further enhances this ethereal effect. The outermost rose gold bridges are skeletonized into Roman numerals, forming both the dial structure and hour markers in a display of Cartier’s architectural artistry. At 12 o’clock, two delicate blued-steel sword-shaped hands indicate the hours and minutes.

Inside beats the Caliber 9465 MC hand-wound movement, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a 52-hour power reserve. Viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback, the intricate gear train and tourbillon system reveal the technical mastery and decorative refinement of Cartier’s haute horlogerie.
The watch is completed with an alligator leather strap and produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces. The official retail price has not yet been announced.
