Straw, once a vital part of agrarian life, is repurposed here into a medium of luxurious artistry. Craftsmen meticulously select and flatten each strand based on its natural sheen and flexibility, before cutting it into tiny inlays of varying tones. These are then carefully assembled to form the intricate image of a koala, glowing with straw’s natural golden luster — a radiance that remains eternal without the need for glazing or treatment.
The 35mm white gold case, adorned with 43 brilliant-cut diamonds, contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the straw marquetry dial, while the diamond-set crown adds a subtle touch of sophistication.
