This Villeret Monophasé Complete Calendar 8 Jours 6639 is Blancpain’s newly updated moonphase annual calendar watch, introduced at Baselworld this year. Compared to the 2010 first-generation model, the new version features a refined white enamel dial with an optimized layout that enhances its overall elegance and simplicity.
The white enamel dial is adorned with italicized hour numerals and a classic small three-hand layout. The day and month windows are positioned beneath 12 o’clock, while the outermost ring displays the date, indicated by a slender blue hand. At 6 o’clock lies Blancpain’s signature “face” moonphase aperture, accompanied by a 29.5-day lunar cycle scale.
The 42mm rose gold case retains the Villeret collection’s hallmark double-stepped bezel design. Inside beats Blancpain’s in-house Caliber 6639 automatic movement, equipped with a silicon balance spring and composed of 303 parts. Impressively, it delivers a power reserve of 192 hours (8 days), meaning it can rest for an entire week without stopping — an exceptional technical achievement.
With its combination of enamel craftsmanship, annual calendar with moonphase complication, and extended power reserve, this watch embodies refined elegance and stands out as one of the most noteworthy dress watches of the year.
