Vacheron Constantin’s Métiers d’Art Chinese Zodiac series began with the “Year of the Snake” in 2012, followed by the “Year of the Horse” launched at the end of 2013. The “Year of the Sheep” is the third watch in this series.
Available in two case materials, 18K rose gold and platinum, the rose gold version features an antique copper enamel dial and a rose gold ram relief, while the platinum version has a blue enamel dial and a platinum ram engraving. The leaf decorations on the dial are derived from classic Chinese patterns, etched into a gold dial.
Powered by the 2460 G4 movement, the watch displays the time, day, date, and week using four rotating discs: the hour and minute discs are sliding, while the date and weekday advance in a jumping manner. The design of the time window maximizes the visibility of the gold sculpted pattern, with the time display taking a secondary role.
TBoth the rose gold and platinum versions are limited to 12 pieces, each engraved with the year “2015” on the case back.
This watch is only available for order at Vacheron Constantin boutiques. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for a timepiece to wear during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
