At SIHH 2015, Greubel Forsey introduced the GMT Black, a striking new version of its celebrated GMT Tourbillon. The watch features a titanium case coated with ADLC (Amorphous Diamond-Like Carbon), whose deep black tone complements the dark dial and bridges perfectly.The very first Greubel Forsey GMT debuted in 2011, followed by subsequent releases in rose gold, white gold, and platinum. This latest edition fully exploits the lightweight advantages of titanium: the case, the rotating globe at 7 o’clock, and even the tourbillon cage are crafted from the metal, making the watch significantly lighter on the wrist. The ADLC coating—harder and more elastic than the more common DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) treatment—offers superior resistance to scratches and peeling.
The 43.5 mm case retains the original GMT layout. The most eye-catching feature remains the three-dimensional rotating globe at 7 o’clock, which turns in real time with the Earth’s rotation, providing an intuitive display of world time and day/night indication. Due to this complex construction, the watch measures 16.14 mm thick. At 5 o’clock, Greubel Forsey’s signature 24-second tourbillon—tilted at a 25-degree angle—demonstrates both technical innovation and mechanical artistry.

The watch is powered by Greubel Forsey’s in-house Caliber GF05, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a 72-hour power reserve.
