At this year’s SIHH, Parmigiani unveiled the Toric Chronomètre, a classic three-hand timepiece that marks a return to the original design and aesthetics of Michel Parmigiani’s first Toric model from 1996 — a creation that evokes the sentiment, “This is what Parmigiani truly is.”
The 40.8mm gold case, with a thickness of only 9.5mm, offers an ideal proportion for a refined dress watch. Its double bezel with gadroon and knurling decoration exudes a sense of ancient Greek-inspired beauty. The dial is available in either white or black, featuring gold lance-shaped hour and minute hands, Arabic numerals, and a minute track for excellent legibility. At 3 o’clock, a triple-date window provides added functionality.
The crown, adorned with the same knurled motif, harmonizes perfectly with the overall design of the watch.
Inside beats Parmigiani’s in-house PF331 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 55-hour power reserve. Each movement bears its own unique serial number, and both the bridges and the solid gold rotor are meticulously finished by hand.As always, the watch is paired with an Hermès alligator leather strap, a signature of Parmigiani’s refined craftsmanship.
