This is Vacheron Constantin’s most complex timepiece of the year — the Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical, a double-faced masterpiece that integrates 23 high complications. It simultaneously displays civil time, solar time, and sidereal time through three independent gear trains. Remarkably, despite its immense complexity, the movement is only 8.7mm thick and provides an astonishing three weeks of power reserve.
On the black front dial, the main hour and minute hands indicate standard (civil) time, while a rose gold hand tipped with an openworked sun shows solar time (the equation of time). Additional indications include:
-
1 o’clock: Day of the week and month
-
2 o’clock: Leap year cycle
-
3 o’clock: Date
-
4 o’clock: Zodiac signs and seasons
-
6 o’clock: Sunrise and sunset times, as well as day/night duration
-
9 o’clock: Moon-phase display
-
10 o’clock: Tides and relative positions of the Sun, Moon, and Eart
Turning the watch over reveals a celestial display on the reverse side, crafted from two superimposed sapphire disks showing the star chart and sidereal time, allowing the wearer to observe the current night sky. At 6 o’clock, a prominent Maltese cross-shaped tourbillon commands attention, while the outermost scale—marked from “Empty” to “Full”—indicates the state of the power reserve.
The estimated price is USD 1,000,000..Specifications — Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication
