At the 2019 SIHH, MB&F unveiled the Horological Machine N°6 Final Edition, marking the conclusion of the HM6 series. Only 8 pieces of this final edition will be produced, bringing the total number of HM6 watches ever made to 100, and signifying the official end of the collection. For collectors, this represents the last opportunity to acquire an HM6.
First introduced in 2014, the HM6 is among the most emblematic creations of MB&F — a bold expression of the brand’s imaginative engineering and avant-garde design. Inspired by the 1980s Japanese anime Capitaine Flam, the HM6 embodies the form of a futuristic spaceship, fusing mechanical artistry with science-fiction aesthetics.

The Final Edition retains the series’ striking proportions — 49.5 x 52.3 mm with a thickness of 20.4 mm. Despite its size, the curved caseback ensures excellent wearability. The case is crafted entirely from satin-finished stainless steel, offering a more understated and refined appearance compared to earlier titanium or platinum versions.
Each of the watch’s four domed sapphire windows serves a specific purpose:

  • The two front domes, facing the wearer, display the hours and minutes;

  • The two rear domes house rotating turbines, which act as “engines” regulating the automatic winding system — visually resembling spacecraft thrusters.

At the center of the case lies the tourbillon “cockpit”, symbolizing the command center of the ship. The flying tourbillon serves as the “captain,” maintaining precision and stability. To protect it, MB&F designed a retractable titanium shield, which can be opened or closed via the left crown, while the right crown handles standard time adjustments.
Powering the HM6 is a proprietary three-dimensional movement, developed entirely in-house by MB&F. It operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and provides a 72-hour power reserve. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, one can admire the distinctive battle-axe–shaped winding rotor, now finished in a striking blue hue.
Limited to 8 pieces worldwide, the watch comes fitted with a black alligator leather strap and is priced at USD 215,000.
