Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Dual Time 43mm Review

The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Dual Time is the latest evolution of the iconic Grande Seconde, unveiled at this year’s Baselworld. Building on the 2014 “Grande Seconde Quantième” design, this model adds a practical dual-time function, making it ideal for international travelers and watch enthusiasts who value elegance and utility.
The watch is presented in a 43mm rose gold case with a thickness of 13.13mm and features a sophisticated ivory Grand Feu enamel dial. Its off-centered hours and minutes subdial at 12 o’clock displays Roman numerals with a railway-track minute scale. The iconic large seconds subdial at 6 o’clock integrates three concentric scales: the outer ring for seconds, the middle for the date, and the inner for the 24-hour second time zone, highlighted with blue Arabic numerals for clarity.

The timepiece is powered by the Caliber 2663H24 automatic movement with a silicon escapement and balance spring, beating at 28,800 vph. Twin barrels provide a robust 65-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance. The watch is finished with an elegant alligator leather strap with a rose-gold pin buckle or stainless-steel folding clasp, offering comfort and style.
