This IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph is IWC’s most complex 2020 model, featuring a flying tourbillon, flyback chronograph, and retrograde calendar. Despite its intricate functions, the watch maintains elegant proportions and a clear, orderly layout, showcasing the classic Portuguese style.
The polished platinum case measures 43.5 mm in diameter and nearly 16 mm in thickness—remarkable for such a complicated movement. A unique feature is the first use of rectangular chronograph pushers, offering a solid tactile feel.

The silver-white dial retains iconic elements such as Arabic numerals, railway-style minute tracks, and leaf-shaped hands. Its asymmetrical design is distinctive—the 12 o’clock subdial shows hours and minutes for the chronograph, the 9 o’clock calendar hand features a retrograde function, and the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock includes a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time-setting.

Powered by the in-house IWC 89900 automatic movement, it offers a 68-hour power reserve. The skeletonized oscillating weight and base plate highlight Geneva stripes, while the escapement is treated with Diamond Shell technology to reduce friction and ensure stable energy output.
Paired with a blue alligator leather strap, this limited edition is 50 pieces and priced at 123,000 Swiss francs.
