The new Moonwatch draws its design from the 4th generation Speedmaster used during the Apollo lunar missions. On the bezel’s tachymeter scale, you can find distinctive details characteristic of the 1960s Speedmasters – the “dot over 90” (where the dot at 90 units is positioned above the numeral) and the “dot diagonal to 70” (where the dot at 70 units is placed on the diagonal line of the numeral).
The classic 42mm stainless steel case features a combination of brushed and polished finishes and is specially fitted with a vintage-style Hesalite organic glass crystal, maintaining a classic, retro aesthetic. The black step- dial has a matte-brushed finish and features:
-
3 o’clock: 30-minute chronograph recorder
-
6 o’clock: 12-hour chronograph recorder
-
9 o’clock: Small seconds sub-dial
The OMEGA Calibre 3861 manual-winding movement incorporates a new silicon balance spring, providing resistance to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. The power reserve has been increased to 50 hours, and the precision rating has been significantly improved from -1/+11 seconds to 0/+5 seconds per day. Furthermore, it now features a hack seconds function (stop-seconds mechanism), enabling more precise time setting.

The solid case back is adorned with the “Seahorse” (Hippocampus) medallion and bears the historic engraving: “FLIGHT-QUALIFIED BY NASA IN 1965 FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS”.
Finally, it’s worth noting that the stainless steel bracelet also returns to the 1960s-style five-arched-links design. The satin-brushed clasp features an applied OMEGA logo, and the watch is fitted with new oval-shaped pushers. The official price is approximately 6,515 Euros.
