Part of Harry Winston’s 2022 “Majestic Escapes” High Jewelry Collection, the Shades of Blue necklace and earrings set draws inspiration from the idyllic Greek island of Santorini. Through a sophisticated interplay of aquamarines, sapphires, and diamonds, the designer abstractly captures the Mediterranean landscape and the island’s iconic white-and-blue architecture.
The deep, saturated blue sapphires evoke the vast expanse of the Mediterranean Sea, while the crystalline aquamarines reflect the serene blue of the open sky. The gemstones are arranged in an artful composition, interspersed with pear-, round-, and marquise-cut diamonds, whose scintillation recalls the glimmering sunlight on rippling water.

The necklace is centered around eight Asscher-cut aquamarines, the largest weighing 15.98 carats. Its platinum framework is constructed in a layered, asymmetrical design, set with an array of sapphires, aquamarines, and brilliant-cut diamonds, reminiscent of the geometric harmony of Santorini’s blue-domed rooftops and whitewashed facades.

The earrings feature two Asscher-cut aquamarines at the studs, descending into a cascade of mixed-cut diamonds and sapphires. At the base, two emerald-cut aquamarines sway gracefully, creating a visual sense of lightness and fluidity. The subtle gradient of blue tones and the architectural arrangement together express a refined balance of color, structure, and movement, echoing the timeless allure of the Aegean coast.
