Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight diving watch Overview
Inspired by the 1958 debut of the first-generation diving watch Ref. 7924, Tudor introduced the Black Bay Fifty-Eight at Baselworld as a refined, smaller, and thinner interpretation of its modern Black Bay line. The model features a compact 39 mm case paired with an 11.9 mm profile, making it noticeably slimmer than the standard Black Bay, which measures 14.75 mm. This retro-sized case offers a rare and highly wearable dimension within the world of contemporary dive watches, appealing especially to enthusiasts who appreciate diving aesthetics without the bulk of traditional tool watches.

The 39 mm case size remains unusual among modern divers, giving the watch a classic proportion reminiscent of mid-century instrumentation. Despite its more compact construction, the large screw-down crown is preserved, ensuring reliable underwater operation. The black dial is paired with white hour markers and hands, while the bezel numerals and marker outlines display warm gold tones, creating a nostalgic and inviting vintage appearance. Signature design elements such as the snowflake hands and luminous coating maintain the recognizable Black Bay identity.

MT5402 Movement and Performance
Inside the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight diving watch is the in-house MT5402 movement, developed specifically for smaller case formats. With a diameter of only 26 mm, it delivers a robust technical package: a silicon balance spring, COSC certification, and a 70-hour power reserve. The movement is adjusted for a precision of -3 to +3 seconds per day, offering reliability for both daily wear and professional timing needs.
Case Finishing and Strap Options
The stainless steel case is finely brushed for a tool-watch character while maintaining Tudor’s signature craftsmanship. The model is offered with three strap configurations: a matching steel bracelet, a vintage-style leather strap, and a woven fabric strap. Each option provides a distinct personality, from rugged tool-watch functionality to refined casual elegance.
