Hublot Red Dot Bang Singapore 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Chronograph
The Hublot Red Dot Bang Singapore 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Chronograph was created in 2015 to celebrate two important milestones: the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s independence and the 10th anniversary of Hublot’s Big Bang collection. The watch takes its name from Singapore’s well-known nickname, the “Little Red Dot,” and incorporates symbolic design elements to honor this cultural identity. The red Arabic numeral at 10 o’clock represents both the nation’s signature color and the tenth anniversary of the Big Bang line.
Case Design and Visual Identity
The watch features a 44mm case available in either Hublonium magnesium–aluminum alloy or gold, offering two distinct personalities. Hublonium, a proprietary alloy introduced by Hublot in 2007, blends magnesium and aluminum to create a lightweight yet exceptionally durable material with a unique grey metallic appearance. The gold version amplifies presence and luxury, remaining faithful to Hublot’s bold design ethos.
The skeletonized grid dial reveals the mechanical depth of the HUB4214 automatic movement beneath. Red highlights are strategically placed on the indexes, the central chronograph seconds hand, and the 10 o’clock numeral to reinforce the Red Dot identity. The sub-dial arrangement includes a minute counter at 3 o’clock, an hour counter at 6 o’clock, and small seconds at 9 o’clock. A date display is neatly positioned at 4 o’clock to maintain balance without disrupting legibility.
Movement and Technical Features
Inside the watch beats the HUB4214 automatic chronograph movement, operating at 28,800 vph and delivering a 42-hour power reserve. The open-worked dial architecture allows light to pass through, revealing the layered components of the mechanism in motion. On the caseback, the anniversary emblem “Big Bang 10 Years” is displayed prominently, with the “0” shaped subtly like the letter “H,” a nod to Hublot’s identity.
The chronograph pushers are integrated seamlessly into the case structure, while the sapphire crystal and sapphire caseback ensure scratch resistance and full visibility. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear despite its limited-edition status.
Strap, Comfort, and Materials
The watch comes fitted with an alligator leather strap lined with natural rubber, a signature Hublot construction that combines elegance with durability and comfort. Depending on the model chosen, the buckle is crafted either in magnesium–aluminum alloy or gold, matching the case material to maintain design consistency.
Limited Editions and Pricing
Two versions were offered at launch:
- Hublonium alloy version: limited to 50 pieces, priced at 36,600 SGD
- Gold version: limited to 10 pieces, priced at 66,400 SGD
With its symbolic red accents, open-worked dial, and commemorative caseback, the Hublot Red Dot Bang Singapore 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Chronograph is considered one of the most culturally significant Big Bang variations ever produced.
